Luke really is his father’s son because his petty twink ass went “ok fuck you” and sent Grogu’s gremlin self PACKING alone across the Galaxy as soon as Grogu picked his dad’s sweet ass homemade sweater over some rando swamp rat’s lightsaber.
Wow there's some fucking bullshit going on in the replies here. Moderate your fucking spaces on the internet, kick racists and other bad actors to the kerb or you risk losing everyone else. This guy has the right of it (scroll up to top).
Quit thinking you need to be fair to unfair voices
For anyone who can’t/won’t read that twitter thread, it’s by Michael B. Tager (@IamRageSparkle) and it says:
I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."
And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed
Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them." And i was like, ohok and he continues.
"you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.
And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.
And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people." And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven't forgotten that at all.
It's not a violation of their "first amendment right", and don't let them tell you it is. You are allowed to moderate what you experience, and baby, this isn't a free speech violation, these are the consequences of your actions. Deal with it.
Every actual activist I’ve met, who actually gets out and organizes events and works to actually improve their community, STRONGLY encourages voting. My local BLM chapter held voting registration drives all last summer. MLK’s daughter is currently pressuring politicians to pass voting rights laws. Every activist whose work I respect holds voting as an incredibly important tool that, while it’s not going to solve every societal ill, is a vital thing to use in conjunction with other activism.
But on the other hand a bunch of tumblr communists said that voting is stupid and doesn’t do anything, so I guess I’ll just sit around waiting to see if a violent, bloody revolution spontaneously turns society into a utopia. I mean, it has literally never fucking done that but THIS TIME for sure, right guys?
people today with access to more raw information than any other period: the earth is flat
german artilleryman in 1916, who barely washes his own ass: I need to account for the curvature and rotation of the earth when plotting my firing plans
people today with access to more raw information than any other period: I won’t wear a cloth mask to stop a respiratory disease because a radio show host told me it makes you an emasculated cuck to follow scientific guidelines, and by god I need to eat at this shitty American fast food restaurant *dies a preventable, slow and painful death*
German plague doctor in 1646, who absolutely did not wash his ass: I will cover my eyes, my mouth, and mask the scents that I smell, I will coat my clothing in wax and examine patients from afar with a stick. I know not how the plague is spread, but if I block every transmission route, I can save myself and stave off the chance of being infected *does not die despite being knee deep in a vastly more contagious and hyperlethal disease*
Whenever people come with "they're from a different era" defending old racists and homophobes and transphobes, I always point to Betty as an example of someone choosing to grow with the world around them. Betty was on the right side of most of the history and change she lived through. There are no excuses. As long as you are alive, you have a responsibility to society to learn and be better. You don't get to decide when you've had enough because ideas that are new to you make you uncomfortable.
And no I'm not saying Betty was a Saint. She was 99. I'm 1000% sure she's said or done something problematic- we ALL have and will and in 2022, I hope the internet gets that. But the gift of age is that Betty was able to grow and be better and show what she's learned.
I’ve been wanting to do a thing like this for a while. Behold my amazing animu mongah skills there wow swoons
I feel like these things are extremely important for young artists to see.
This is not even relevant to my blog but the small amount of people who follow me need to see it.
